Concern

Unwanted hair treatment in Bahria Town, Lahore

Shaving, waxing and threading manage hair rather than reduce it, and for many people the cycle brings irritation, bumps and ingrown hairs with it. Reduction treatments work on the follicle instead of the hair above the skin.

At Skinfinity, hair concerns are addressed with laser hair reduction for pigmented hair and electrolysis for grey, white and very fine hair. Which applies to you is confirmed at consultation.

What this concern involves

Hair grows in cycles, and only follicles in an active growth phase respond to a given laser session. That is why hair reduction is always planned as a course rather than a single appointment.

Hair that contains little or no pigment cannot absorb laser light. Those individual hairs are treated with electrolysis, which works follicle by follicle regardless of colour.

Possible contributing factors

These are factors commonly discussed in clinic. They are not a diagnosis — what applies to you is established during your assessment.

  • Natural variation in hair density and distribution
  • Hormonal changes, including those associated with conditions your practitioner will ask about
  • Certain medications, which is why your history is reviewed before treatment
  • Irritation from repeated shaving, waxing or threading of the same area

What the consultation involves

Your skin type, hair type and medical history are reviewed, and a patch test is carried out before any laser course begins.

You receive a written plan covering the areas being treated, the number of sessions, the spacing between them and what it will cost.

Frequently asked questions

Is laser hair removal permanent?
It is used for long-term hair reduction rather than guaranteed permanent removal. Most plans include occasional maintenance sessions, and this is explained before you book.
Can grey hair be treated?
Not with laser, because grey and white hair lacks the pigment that absorbs laser light. Electrolysis is used for those hairs instead.
Can I wax between sessions?
No. Waxing, threading and plucking remove the follicle target. Shaving between appointments is fine.
