How it works
Controlled micro-channels are created in the skin at a depth selected for the area being treated. This prompts the skin's own repair response over the following weeks.
Because that response is gradual, microneedling is planned as a course with several weeks between sessions, and change continues between appointments.
What to expect
The skin is cleansed and prepared before the treatment pass is carried out across the planned area.
Redness resembling mild sunburn on the day is normal, usually settling over one to three days depending on depth.
How many sessions are needed?
There is no fixed number that applies to everyone. The plan — how many sessions, how far apart, and what each session costs — is set out in writing at your consultation once your skin has been assessed.
Aftercare
- Use only gentle cleanser and moisturiser for the first 48 hours and skip makeup on the day where possible.
- Avoid gym sessions, saunas and swimming for 48 hours, and use daily sunscreen throughout the course.
